Higher dimensions than 3 spacial dimensions are an ongoing topic in physics. Einstein added a fourth dimension (time) and it worked very well so far. Kaluza and Klein added even a fifth dimension with some success, but with serious problems, too. Do extra dimensions make sense? Some basics about extra dimensions here in this video.
